The Presentation of database information on the web using Java Servlets
Ray Owens will look at issues surrounding combining Java, RDBMS and the web for a medium scale project. Mr Owens will cover an introduction of the Java servlet API, the Java/JDBC API and creating HTML in an object orientated manner using the Apache Erector Construction Set (ECS) framework of classes. He will also sketch an example implementation using the Apache web server and it's JServ module to provide users access to an existing data mine.
Ray Owens is a Systems Engineer that has spent the last 5 years as project manager building a database of automated test data for a local company. Somehow this has evolved into writing database application software in Java.
