December Seattle Unix Users Group Meeting

The December 2002 presentation for the Seattle Unix Group meeting will be on setting up an integrated mail server on Linux and Unix systems and will include discussion of:

  • The Postfix MTA (Mail Transport Agent).
  • The Deliver MDA (Mail Delivery Agent).
  • The Horde and IMP webmail servers.
  • Scanning for and disarming worms that attack the Microsoft virus, Windows.
  • Mailman and Majordomo mailing list managers.
  • Various MUAs (Mail User Agents) including mutt, sylpheed, Netscape, and Mulberry.
  • Spam filtering and use of RBLs (Real Time Blackhole Lists).


Meeting location:

See map and/or call Myrio front desk for directions at 425.897.7200. Myrio is located in the building with the address 3000 that is to the right of the traffic circle. Turn right at the traffic circle, drive past the building and park. Enter the building from the side facing the lake. We suggest you arrive by 7 p.m. - if you arrive late, you may not be able to gain access to the building.
