A discussion of quality Unix and Linux
commands that solve a lot of problems. Some of the proposed commands
for further elaboration and discussion include
netstat, ifconfig, nslookup, du, top, iostat and vmstat.Meeting location: Seattle Vocational Institute, 2120 South Jackson Street, Seattle, WA 98144. The parking lot and "our" door is on the north end of the block on S. Main Street. Park on Jackson or (better) in the parking lot behind the Institute. Look for a notice posted on the double doors listing the room number for the meeting. From I-90: Take I-90 east- or west-bound, exit on Rainier Ave and go north. Take Rainier Ave to Jackson, turn right and go east to 22nd Ave. South. The institute is on the north (left) side of Jackson. After you pass the institute, turn left on 22nd, go one block, turn left and turn left into the parking lot. From I-5, traveling south: Take James St. exit (165A), stay in left lane until turning left onto James St. Turn right at Boren and go south to Yesler. Turn left on Yesler, go a few blocks and turn right on 20th Ave. South. Go three blocks, turn left onto Jackson and go east to 22nd Ave. South. The institute is on the north (left) side of Jackson. After you pass the institute, turn left on 22nd, go one block, turn left and turn left into the parking lot. From the University District:Take Montlake Blvd. going south (it turns into 23rd), pass Yesler and turn right at Jackson. The institute is on the north side of Jackson at 22nd Street.
