November -- OpenGL: a portable 3D graphics library
November Seattle Unix Users Group Meeting
Programmer Robert Skinner speak on Open GL, a windowing-system-independent, high-performance 3D graphics library. Robert will cover the history and architecture of OpenGL and its relationship to the windowing systems. He will also discuss how OpenGL is used and why you might choose it over alternative libraries. Robert will discuss how the current generation of inexpensive graphics cards from nVidia and ATI implement OpenGL. Tomasz Gil will continue his discussion from the July meeting on "Java as application Platform for UNIX":

Myrio is located in the building with the address 3000 Carillon Point that is to the right of the traffic circle. Turn right at the traffic circle, drive past the building and enter the gated parking lot. (Parking is free if you exit the lot after 7 p.m.) Enter the building from the side facing the lake. We suggest you arrive by 7:10 p.m. - if you arrive late, you may not be able to gain access to the building. |
