We welcome our board members and others in a panel discussion with audience
participation on "When and how to optimize code". It is a software engineering
truism that premature optimization is the root of all evil. Yet many companies
devote considerable resources to optimization for sound business reasons (e.g.,
Amazon.com, MSN.com). What circumstances favor giving priority to
efficiency during the design phase? What techniques and algorithms have
high or low success rates? What tools and platforms can software developers
use to facilitate optimization? Join us for a critical discussion of an
age-old issue.
Meeting location
Here's a
map of the meeting location.
Take Highway 405 and exit
to go EAST at the NE 8th St. exit in downtown Bellevue. (That's the
eastbound NE 8th St.
exit, not the SE 8th St. exit.) Go
approximately one quarter mile east on NE 8th St. and turn RIGHT
on 120 Ave. NE. Go past the Home Depot store on your right and
continue until the road begins to turn to the right (west).
At this bend, continue straight and enter a driveway leading to
a number of buildings. The first building on the right (west
side) is 11911 NE 1st St. Drive to the back (south side) of this building and
park. The entrance to the building is on the south side. Mosaic Technology is
in Suite B 304 (third floor).

There is plenty of free parking
all around the building. We recommend that you arrive by 7:15 p.m
so you can gain access to the building.
