March -- E-mail list management using Mailman
March 2004 Seattle Unix Users Group Meeting
We welcome back Mr. Bill Campbell of Celestial Systems who over the years, has provided numerous well received presentations on his experiences with messaging, LDAP, spam controls, application configurations and many others. Bill will discuss his experiences with the Mailman package. In the last few weeks, Bill has moved the seaslug mailing lists from Majordomo to Mailman. Mailman provides an excellent web interface that allows the administrators to manage the lists and for people to subscribe and configure their list membership. We also welcome our board members and others in a panel discussion with audience participation on "When and how to optimize your code: premature optimization is the root of all evil". Meeting locationHere's a map of the meeting location. Take Highway 405 and exit to go EAST at the NE 8th St. exit in downtown Bellevue. (That's the eastbound NE 8th St. exit, not the SE 8th St. exit.) Go approximately one quarter mile east on NE 8th St. and turn RIGHT on 120 Ave. NE. Go past the Home Depot store on your right and continue until the road begins to turn to the right (west). At this bend, continue straight and enter a driveway leading to a number of buildings. The first building on the right (west side) is 11911 NE 1st St. Drive to the back (south side) of this building and park. The entrance to the building is on the south side. Mosaic Technology is in Suite B 304 (third floor). If these directions are not clear, call Mosaic Technology during business hours at 425.462.5004.There is plenty of free parking all around the building. We recommend that you arrive by 7:15 p.m so you can gain access to the building. |
